Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound that occurs naturally in the Cannabis plant. Cannabis is thought to have many therapeutic benefits and has thus been used medicinally for thousands of years. Given its popularity and safe, non-addictive composition, CBD has become the subject of countless studies around the world. CBD is just one type of phytocannabinoid compound that can be found in the Cannabis plant.
CBD is closely related to another phytocannabinoid: tetrahydrocannabinol. Better known as THC, this compound is responsible for getting people high. CBD and THC are the most widely studied components of the cannabis plant. Both CBD and THC are thought to have significant therapeutic benefits. But unlike THC, CBD does not make you feel high when you consume it. That’s because CBD and THC have different compositions and affect different receptors within the brain and body. CBD can actually help counteract the psychoactive effects of THC. This makes CBD the perfect choice for people who want the health benefits of cannabis without experiencing the psychoactive effects of THC.
Due to DSHEA guidelines, we are not allowed to name any health conditions that may be impacted by CBD. We encourage you to do your own research, consult your doctor, and visit PubMed.gov as a source for current research involving CBD and it’s benefits. More and more research is being done to substantiate the medicinal advantages of CBD . We encourage you to talk to your doctor before you begin any new dietary or supplement regimen.
Hemp-based products containing less than 0.3% THC are considered exempt from the Federal Controlled Substances Act. Therefore, thy are currently not unlawful to distribute.
No! CBD is a phytocannabinoid that it is a non-psychoactive, non-addictive, and is shown to be incredibly safe for everyday use.
Agricultural hemp is tall with thick stocks, small leaves, and little to no flowers. Defined as a cannabis plant containing less than 0.3% THC, hemp has many contemporary uses, including textiles and oils. Hemp growers have fewer regulations to deal with than marijuana producers, so hemp production is the more common of the two.
On the other hand, Marijuana plants have distinctively shorter stalks and produce more flowers. The THC content is higher in these plants. While marijuana tends to be used recreationally, some states allow it to be prescribed medicinally. Because of the restrictions regarding marijuana, growing these plants can be much more difficult and leave a surprisingly large carbon footprint.
